ASUS Eee Pad Slider finally surfaces again; Specs revealed and a release date confirmed.
A few months ago ASUS said the highly anticipated, award winning Eee Pad Silder would be “coming soon” but since then we have heard nothing about it and still no release date has been confirmed until now.
We now know it will be coming in September with no exact date confirmed as of yet. The Official ASUS Eee Pad Slider product page says it comes it choice of colors; Pearl white or Metallic brown. It will be running the new Google Android 3.1 OS, which will be upgradable to Android 3.2 OS. In pad mode users can make the most of an incredible 10.1 inch display with a 178 degree viewing angle. The slide-out keyboard makes writing emails, blog posts or word documents a breeze.
Connectivity
The connectivity options on offer include a built-in USB port, Micro SD card reader and mini-HDMI port. This opens a wide range of options to the user, allowing users to easily connect to an HDTV, import photos and videos from an SD card and connect the Eee Pad Slider to their laptop or desktop computer.
Multimedia Experience
The Eee Pad Slider is powered by a powerful NVIDIA Tegra 2 dual-core processor which can handle pretty much everything you throw at it and provides a superior multimedia experience. This means you can multitask without worrying about the Slider struggling; listen to music, browse the web and watch videos in HD all at the same time.
The IPS 16:10 ratio display “provides an unrivaled experience” and is protected by a layer of scratch resistant glass. It also features 10 finger multi-touch support, a front-facing 1.2 megapixel camera and a back-facing 5 megapixel camera.
Ultra Portable
The ability to easily go from Pad mode to slide-out mode makes the ASUS Eee Pad Slider the best portable tablet on the market. The slide-out keyboard is a much more convenient typing experience compared to typing on the touchscreen which can be rather slow, this is especially important when you are writing emails or blogs posts on a daily basis. The slider allows users to be productive wherever you are and at anytime of the day.
The ASUS Eee Pad slider comes with Polaris Office 3.0 pre-installed which gives users the ability to view and edit office documents including word documents, spreadsheets and presentation files. Just incase you run out of space ASUS WebStorage provides the user with one year of unlimited cloud storage so users can backup all their files.

As mentioned above the ASUS Eee Pad Slider will be running Android 3.1 OS. Applications that come pre-installed include MyNet, MyCloud and MyLibrary. MyNet provides a brilliant wireless experience for the user, which opens a wide range of possibilties; stream movies from your Desktop, transfer files to your laptop or connect to the internet in your local Internet Cafe. My Library organizes and makes browsing all your files easy. MyCloud makes it easy to access digital content such as music or movies. It can also be used to remotely access another computer. A wide range of Apps are available on the Android marketplace.
