Nokia will undercut the cheapest Android phones

According to Chris Weber (Nokia’s North American sales group Manager) they will be released Windows Phones that are cheaper than the cheapest Android phones currently on the market.

Discussing how the Finland based company would gain back the market share in the US from Android he said it’s “the quickest way to gain market share.”

Nokia Windows Phones

By undercutting Android and releasing some cheap Windows Phones Nokia hope they can gain back some quick market share from a market currently dominated by Android. Android are no strangers themselves to this tactic, with Google giving away Android at no cost to them even though they were being charged fees.

Nokia who were once the world’s leading suppliers of phones have struggling recently without an OS that can compete with Android. However they will be hoping the partnership with Microsoft will be their way back into an ever competitive market.
