Experts are predicting the iPhone 5 will be released in the US on October 7 after Stephane Richard, who is Chairman and CEO for iPhone’s French carrier service Orange, accidentally let slip that the iPhone will be released on October 15 in France and the rest of Europe.
When speaking to a small group of French reporters on Friday he said, “If we believe what we have been told, the iPhone 5 will be released on 15 October.”
He goes on to say, “If the date is confirmed, it will definitely be in France Telecom stores. We shall see.”
So if we are to believe this news, Apple products are almost always released a week earlier in the US meaning the iPhone 5 will be released in the US on October 7. Stephane Richard, who has openly talked about announcement plans for Apple products before, did not say how he knew the information.
The release does however line-up with other rumors of a mid-October release date. Apple are expected to release the Apple iPhone 5 alongside the iPhone 4S; which is expected to be an upgraded version of the iPhone 4 and should cost less.
iOS 5 is also expected to come pre-loaded on the iPhone 5 and will be released around the same date. In other news O2 are reporting a release date of October 21 and Best Buy are rumored to be putting up in-store installments for the iPhone 5 on October 21.
