Verizon have just launched the Pantech Breakout which is a 4G LTE smartphone and the cheapest to date. Considering the price it has some impressive specs. It has a respectable 1GHz processor with a 4-inch WVGA display and will be running Google’s latest Android OS, 2.3 Gingerbread.
It has a rear-facing 5-megapixel camera with 720p HD video recording, a front-facing VGA camera that can be used for video calls, Bluetooth 3.0, WiFi b/g/n and even comes with a 8GB microSD card preinstalled. The phone also comes preloaded with Swype and has hotspot support with up to 10 WiFi clients.
The $99 price tag is for the phone on a new two-year contract and after a mail-in rebate. It will go on sale in the US on September 20.
