HTC Holiday; the powerful new smartphone was just leaked online revealing pictures and specs.
Photos of the smartphone first appeared at the XDA Developers forum, but since then have disappeared. The first thing you will notice about the HTC Holiday is it’s huge 4.5-inch touchscreen display at 960 x 540 pixel resolution. The only other smartphones on the market at that size are the Samsung Infuse 4G and Dell Streak.
In terms of specs the smartphone is packing a whopping 1GB of RAM, 8-megapixel camera on the back for taking photos and videos and a 1.3-megapixel camera on the front for video calling. It also has built in WiFi and Bluetooth 3.0.
Prehaps most importantly in terms of specs, it will be running on a 1.2GHz processor; according to the rumor mill is will be the same 1.2GHz MSM8660 processor currently seen in the HTC Sensation.
The is an App on the smartphone that seems to suggest it will be released on AT&T in the US, which also means it will work here in Europe. However if it does have 4G that could mean it only gets released in the US.
The most original feature on the smartphone seems to be the charging port on the back of the phone, which suggests you will be able to charge the phone via a charger that plugs into the wall and sits on your desk… then you place your phone flat on the charger. Certainly an interesting idea.
Although this is only a prototype is does give us a good idea of what the phone will look like when it is released. However there are still many questions unanswered; which version of Android will it run? What is with the California sticker? Will it be called HTC Holiday when it is released?
