Sony’s Android 3.1-powered Tablet S is now available for pre-orders and will ship later this month.
The Tablet S is available on on the Official Sony website and on Amazon. It listed at $499.99 (£399.99) for the 16GB model and $599.99 (£499.99) for the 32GB model, with a shipping date of September 16th.
The Tablet S boasts an innovative curved back to make use on a flat surface a little easier. The 16GB Wi-Fi model which will cost $499.99 is the same price as the cheapest Apple iPad. For an extra $100 you can get 3G capabilities and double the storage.
The Sony Tablet S boasts a 9.4-inch touchscreen, a dual-core Nvidia Tegra 2 processor, 1GB of RAM and comes fully PlayStation certified with the ability to and power to play console quality games. The tablet comes preloaded with custom Sony apps which include Video Unlimited and Music Unlimited access.
Other features include a 0.3-megapixel front-facing camera for video calls, a 5-megapixel rear-facing camera capable of 720p HD video capture and IR blaster which turns the tablet into a universal control for all your home entertainment system.
The Sony Tablet P which features a compact dual screen with clamshell design is also available to pre-order from Sony, with Wi-Fi, 3G and 4GB of storage.However no shipping date has been confirmed for it yet.
