There has been much talk about the Playstation Vita ever since Sony Computer Entertainment president Kaz Hirai revealed it earlier in the year at E3 2011, however up until now no-one has had the chance to get their hands on one and check out the battery life.
In June Sony stated that PS Vita would have a battery life on par with the original PSP; which was around 4-6 hours with the PSP 1000. Today though Sony have now went back on their word and say it will only last around 3.5 hours after a full charge. If this is true that would be a 15-25 percent drop in play time after a full charge. The PS Vita is packed full of new features so we can hardly be surprised by this news but it is disappointing.
The PS Vita can now be pre-order from online retailers Amazon and GameStop, with the Wi-Fi only model setting you back $249.99 and $299.99 for the 3G and WiFi version. It will be released on December 31, 2011 along with launch games BlazBlue, Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3, Katamari Damacy, Ridge Racer, Disgaea 3 Return, Uncharted: Golden Abyss, and Dynasty Warriors Next.
