Samsung Windows 8 developer preview tablets being sold on eBay

Just last week at the Microsoft Build conference in Anaheim, California, Microsoft revealed more information about their latest OS Windows 8 and showed it of running on a prototype Samsung tablet. They also give away 5000 free tablets to all of the developers at the conference, so I guess it was only a matter of time before they started showing up on eBay.

The tablet is running on a Intel Core i5 processor, has 4GB of RAM and a 64GB SDD. It also comes with some other accessories which include a dock, Bluetooth keyboard, stylus and carry-case.

You get a free 12 month AT&T SIM that includes access to their 3G mobile broadband with 2GB of mobile data each month.

They are now selling on eBay for at least $2000, with one selling for $3100. Samsung’s tablet is by no means anything special and is the same Series 7 tablet from IFA 2011 that was running Windows 7.

With Windows 8 Developers Preview availabe for people to install on any tablet, it does beg the question why anyone would spend so much money to on one? If you don’t have over $2000 to blow on a Windows 8 tablet, the Samsung Series 7 tablet is expected to go on sale in October, for around $1,099.
