A new IM app from Samsung called ChatON will launch in September on all platforms.
The Skype-alike IM service allows users on many different Operating Systems to text, group chat and image / video share for free.
What’s more, not only will the new IM service run on Samsung’s Bada OS but it will also run on iOS, Android and BlackBerry platforms.
The new service from Samsung will be available in two versions: a basic one and another more complex version that allows users to comment on other profiles, send animated messages and visualize their most frequently contacted friends. A web-based version is planned.
Samsung have described ChatON as a true global mobile communications platform that reinvents and democratises mobile commication. It will launch in 120 countries and in 62 languages. It is expected but to be on show at IFA this week.
