Nintendo President and CEO, Satoru Iwata, at Nintendo’s pre-Tokyo Game Show announced on stage that the Nintendo 3DS will be getting a few upgrades soon. He confirmed it would be getting a 3D video capture upgrade as well as upgrades to the Street Pass Mii Plaza and eShop.
What he didn’t mention on stage however was that Nintendo would be releasing a slide pad add-on for the handheld console. The slice pad add-on basically extends the console so you have two Circle pads rather one. It does make you wonder why they didn’t include two Circle pads as part of the actual console when they first released it.
It is currently up on the gaming company’s Japanese home page right now, with a shipping date of December 10th and a price of ¥1500 ($19.50). It’s powered by a single AAA battery which also rules out any chance that it might extend the battery life of the console. The site also lists the supported games which include including Monster Hunter Tri G, BioHazard Revelations and Snake Eater 3D to name a few.
