The latest rumor regarding the highly anticipated Nexus Prime is that it will infact not be called the Nexus Prime but the Samsung Galaxy Prime.
We recently reported that leaked Samsung code which was discovered on their mobile site confirmed the Nexus Prime, now a tipster has revealed some new information regarding the phone.
Up until this point it has been dubbed the Nexus Prime, the Droid Prime and codename GT-I9250; however the tipster is claiming it will infact be called the Samsung Galaxy Nexus.
This information comes from a tipster who has also revealed that Samsung now has a support page up for the device under the codename GT-I9250, however the page is pretty much empty.
The tipster goes on to say the Samsung Galaxy Nexus is likely to be 8.8mm thin with a full metal chassis. He also says the release date for the phone will be the end of October which would line up nicely with the release date of the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich OS which is slated for a October/November release date. It is highly expected the Samsung Nexus will be the first phone on the market to run the new Android OS.
“For one, our tipster says that the final name of the next Google flagship is Samsung Galaxy Nexus rather than Nexus Prime. It will have a 4.65? screen of HD resolution – not 4.5? WVGA. … screen is curved just like the Nexus S screen … device itself will be very thin – 8.8mm – and have a metal chassis … the launch date – at the end of October (right on the Ice Cream Sandwich schedule)” says the Tipster.
