To date we’ve not heard much about a follow up to the Motorola Xoom, there have been the odd rumors but nothing else until now. Pictures have been leaked that show a Motorola tablet with the model number “MZ617″, which is believed to be the Motorola Xoom 2.
A tipster sent pictures of the tablet to Droidlife, who also believe it could be the successor to the Xoom. According to the source there are similarities in this tablet and the original Xoom, one such similarity is that they both weigh around the same.
Other features on the tablet are an HDMI port, a SIM card slot, micro USB port on the bottom and physical buttons on the back. There doesn’t appear to be a SD slot. In terms of cameras, it does appear to have some kind of front-facing camera and on the back there is a blue camera that reads “HD” on it. There is no word on the processor, RAM or internal memory but it does have 10.1-inch screen.
As you can see from the pictures there is no carrier branding so that still remains a mystery, though we’ll be hoping when it is released, they also release a WiFi model.
There is still information regarding a release date but we’ll let you know as soon as we find out.
