Pictures have been leaked online of a new phone from Motorola. A tipster sent the photos to This Is My Next, who also claimed the phone would be called the Motorola Spyder. However since then another source has come forward who had the chance to play with the Spyder and they had a look at the about screen on the device where it is called the Motorola Droid RAZR; resurrecting one of the most well known Motorola brands.
This lines up well with a recent PocketNow report in which they discovered a test photo taken with a Droid RAZR. The device is also the same phone leaked by Engadget last month, back then they were calling it the Droid HD. It’s still unknown why it was being called the Droid HD then, maybe it was just a name that was being tossed about back then.
The Motorola Droid RAZR will is the first ever phone with a 4.3-inch 960 x 540 qHD Super AMOLED display. It’s packing a dual-core 1.2GHz processor, 1GB of RAM, an 8 megapixel camera capable of 1080p video recording, a front-facing HD camera and LTE. The body is made of Gorilla Glass and with a Kevlar casing, so it’s going to be a fairly tough phone. The Motorola Webtop environment comes pre-installed meaning it will be accompanied by all sorts of docks. Of course given it’s called the “Droid” RAZR it’ll be heading to Verizon.
