The CTIA Enterprise & Applications show has been going on for the past couple of days now, and today we got a hands-on look at the new Optimus Slider from LG. The LG Optimus Slider is thicker and bulkier than its non-sliding cousin but is the perfect device for those who love to text, you get a QWERTY keyboard with keys that are nicely raised above the surface for easy texting.
The 3.2-inch HVGA display on the device is nothing spectacular when compared to the market leaders but it’s bright and colorful which is more than enough for a prepaid handset. Aside from the obvious slide-out QWERTY keyboard it features a 3.2-megapixel rear-facing camera, microSD support up to 32GB and your usual array of WiFi, GPS and Bluetooth.
It will be running Android 2.3 Gingerbread and will come with some Virgin Mobile apps pre-installed, such as Virgin Mobile Live 2.0 which is Virgin’s social networking lifestyle app.
It will be available as soon as the start of next week for $199.99 without a contract.
