The latest reports coming from Japanese site Macotakara are that the iPhone 5 will hit shops on October 14 in the United States, United Kingdom, France, Germany and Japan. Macotakara have offered accurate information in the past before, so there’s a good chance there could be some truth to this latest news.
This latest news backs up a previous statement from Stephane Richard, Chairman and CEO for iPhone’s French carrier service Orange, who said the iPhone 5 would definitely be in France Telecom stores by October 15.
Early today we reported that Apple has confirmed a press event for October 4, so a release date of October 14 would be in line with Apple’s usual interval between announcement and release date.
There are also other reports that iOS 5 will be made available for current devices on October 12. Previous reports have suggested it would be release October 10, so again this date isn’t far out from previous rumors.
