iOS 5 release is imminent as software is sent to networks

The latest rumor regarding the iOS 5 operating system is that it has been sent to networks so they can begin testing.

According to 9to5mac the iOS 5 software sent to the carrier’s is a near final build that includes some unique features not seen in previous beta versions. According to the source FaceTime over 3G is one of the new features and is a high priority in regards to testing.

As we reported previously the Apple store employees are also being trained in iOS 5 and iCloud which suggests they will be released together. Many features of iOS 5 rely on iCloud connectivity so it would be no great surprise if they are released alongside each other. Training material for staff is reportedly in PDF and video format.

It is widely suggested that the iOS 5 will launch alongside the iPhone 5, so if this news is anything to go by the announcement of the iPhone 5 could not be too far away with the latest rumors suggesting a October 21st release date.
