Just recently we had a first look at the HTC Vigor after a press shot was leaked online. Now the guys over at Droid Life have got their hands on a leaked screenshot that says the HTC Vigor, which was rumored to be landing on Verizon later this year, will be released on October 13 as the Droid Incredible HD.
There were rumors floating about that the Vigor would hit the market as the Thunderbolt 2, however this latest leak now suggests it will infact hit the market as the HTC Incredible HD. A lot of the specs match up with the rumored specs for the Vigor, though the authenticity of the leak and accuracy of the information in the screenshot suggests it could be a fake.
The main issue with the screenshot seems to be that they have listed the phone as having a 4.3? WVGA (800×480) display that is “optimized for HD content”. On the next line the document goes on correct itself by saying the phone has a “HD resolution of 1280×720 – The most powerful ever on a smartphone”; which it is widely rumored to feature. So either this is a mistake by a Verizon employee or it’s a fake.
The document could easily have been faked, it’s not difficult; anyone chuck together a document and take a photo of it. However apart from the typo everything else looks pretty legit and matches up with what sources have said in the past. Plus it wouldn’t be the first time a leaked document that turned out to be real contained a typo; a recent document from Nokia that was leaked quoted a camera as having a 5-megapixel camera which turned out not to be true.
The document lists the Incredible as having a powerful dual-core 1.5 GHz processor, 8-megapixel rear-facing camera with 1080p HD video capture capabilities, 4G LTE network support with mobile hotspot capabilities for tethering, Android Gingerbread and Beats Audio technology which is information we already knew from before.
