HTC has officially announced the HTC Sensation XE, the first smartphone to feature Beats Audio technology following the company’s $300 million exclusive partnership with Beats Audio.
This latest phone from HTC is essentially a souped up version of the HTC Sensation 4G; it looks similar in design and includes some new features including the Beats audio technology. The handset also comes with a pair of custom Beats by Dr. Dre headphones and either a 8GB or 16GB microSD card for your music and video.
Once the Beats headphones are plugged in, the phone automatically detects the headset and switches to a custom Beats sound profile that should “deliver fuller bass, crisper vocals, and a new level of clarity and range.”
The headphones also come with a remote control so you control the tracks and answer calls. The only drawback is that the phone comes with 1GB onboard storage which is not a lot, however the 8GB or 16GB microSD card that ships with it means that is not a problem.
Other improvements over the HTC Sensation 4G includes a faster 1.5GHz dual-core processor and a larger 1,730mAh battery. You will also have noticed the phone is red/black in design to compliment the color of the Beats logo and headphones.
Other than that the everything else looks similar to the HTC Sensation 4G; it will be running Android Gingerbread, has a 4.3-inch qHD touch screen, 8-megapixel camera with 1080p HD video capture, and front-facing VGA camera.
The HTC Sensation XE will go on sale in Europe and Asia from late September, however there is no word yet on pricing.
