HTC Flyer price cut to $299 at Best Buy starting October 1

Best Buy have announced they will be reducing the HTC Flyer by $200, down to $299 from $499. The news comes after Amazon released the Kindle Fire a couple of days ago which will sell for only $199. The budget tablet from Amazon looks like it could be a great seller and we don’t think it’s just a coincidence that HTC have decided to reduce the price of their tablet so soon after its announcement.

They’ll be hoping they can gain back some market share with the price reduction, which is a super deal. Considering the cheapest iPad is $500, this news will definitely give you something to consider if you are planning on purchasing a tablet.

It may not be running a dual-core processor or the latest Android Honeycomb OS but it’s still a brilliant tablet. It is running Android 2.3 Gingerbread, has a single-core 1.5GHz processor, 1GB of RAM, 16GB storage and a stunning 7-inch 1024 x 600 display. You will get seven hours of battery life out of it after a charge and there is an optional stylus pen.
