For many months now there have been rumors of a female-targeted phone called the HTC Bliss and just yesterday its full specs were leaked in the form of a HTC “Feature Sheet” which seemed to confirm that it would infact be called the HTC Bliss.
However the guys over at HTCInside which is a German-based site have received press shots and the official name for the device from an anonymous tipster. When the phone launches it will be called the HTC Rhyme; whether or not this will be the official name for the device worldwide or just in Europe we’re not too sure.
The rumored Bliss phone that would be running on phone carrier Verizon, was expected to be a pale green. However in this press shot the phone is grey and white; which suggests that this in an international version of the phone (the weather widget is showing Singapore) that will be available as the HTC Rhyme outside of the US. Or that the phone will be available in a range of colors worldwide.
If this does turn out to be the international model of the phone, that could also mean it is released as the HTC Bliss in the US. We are used to seeing variations of the same phone released under different names internationally so this could well be true.
As expected the it is running Google’s Android operating system 2.3.4 which is nicely complimented by the HTC Sense 3.5 UI; the Rhyme should be one of the first phones on the market to run the new Sense 3.5 UI.
The press shot also confirmed what we believed, that the phone would be revealed at the upcoming HTC event in New York on September 20th.
