Where you one of the customers who bought an HP TouchPad or HP Pre3 smartphone before the huge price cut? Well then you could be eligible for refund from HP thanks to the HP Refund Program.
HP are offering part-refunds to customers in the UK, Ireland, France and Germany who purchased the devices before 23 August 2011. On the refund page is says, “The HP refund program is our way saying thank you for choosing HP webOS.”
So for example if you were a UK customer and paid full price for the HP TouchPad 64GB, WiFi when it first went on sale for £399, you can claim back £159 which was the price difference after the price cut on July 15th. People who bought the HP Pre3 smartphone can also claim back £69. It was also part of the price cut after HP decided to discontinue its WebOS software.
As soon as the news of the HP TouchPad price cut was announced consumers rushed out to gets their hands on one, they were sold out everywhere in no time at all with many devices making their way onto eBay. A final batch of 200,000 HP TouchPad tablets are in production and will go on sale in the US in the next couple of months.
Although the HP TouchPad is running the WebOS software independent developers are working on bringing an Android port to the tablet. CyanogenMod team who are a team of independent developers say they are “pretty close” to releasing a fully functional version of Google Android 2.3.5 for the TouchPad.
