This latest handset from HTC which has been codenamed Runnymede, was first revealed last month when it showed up in some EXIF data on a photo sharing site. Since then full specs have also been revealed but this is the first time we have got a look at the 4.7-inch Gingerbread handset courtesy of PocketNow who were sent a full press shot of the phone.
It will reportedly be powered by a single-core 1.5GHz processor and have a 4.7-inch 480×800 display. Others features include 768MB RAM, 16GB of storage and will be running Android 2.3.4 Gingerbread alongside Sense 3.5.
These specs are by no means impressive, however it’s with the impressive image and sound quality when this phone comes into its own. It will reportedly feature a 8-megapixel camera with backlit sensor plus 28mm wide-angle lens and focal ratio of f/2.2. In video mode it can record footage at 60 frames-per-second, which is more than twice that of the average handset. It could even out-do the camera on the new iPhone 5.
In terms of sound quality the phone features SRS Surround, dual microphones and will recognize when it’s plugged into the Beats headphones which come bundled with the phone.
It is rumored to ship later this year in time for the holidays. It terms of pricing the 16GB model will set you back $838 (£530) and $885 (£560) for the 32GB model. It is still unknown what carrier the phone will launch on, however we hope to find out more at the HTC event in New York on September 20th.
