The highly anticipated Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich OS is due for release in the next couple of months and will bring together tablet and smartphone version of the Android OS.
We’ve seen leaked screenshots of the next-gen Android platform over the past few months but nothing in as much detail as this latest leak which comes in the form of a two minute video preview. The video comes from an eBay shopper who purchased a Samsung Nexus S and was surprised to find it was running the next generation Android OS. The video gives us a quick look at the device running Ice Cream Sandwich and we get to see some of the new features.
There are clear influences from both Android Gingerbread and Honeycomb. On the home screen we can see there are four shortcuts at the bottom. There is also a camera shortcut and a new Google Apps shortcut. The Google Apps shortcut opens up a number of featured services provided by Google. When the home button is long-pressed it displays a multitasking menu. The rest of the UI and icons have all been given a new look too.
