According to the latest reports, the iPhone 5 manufacturing process has begun and they are pumping out 150,000 units/day.
Digitimes believe production of the the iPhone began recently and shipments of the device will happen shortly, they go on to say, “Production of iPhone 5s at OEM maker Foxconn Electronics has reportedly reached 150,000 units per day, according to industry sources.”
According to the same site the manufacturers behind the battery, lens, front glass and touch panel are all working at full capacity too.
These numbers mean around 5 to 6 million iPhone 5′s will ship this month and 22 million in Q4 2011, these numbers show Apple believe the iPhone 5 will be it’s best seller yet. This latest news also seems to back up previous reports of a release date sometime next month, or perhaps even this month.
When the iPhone 5 is released, it is highly rumored to be packing a 1GHz dual-core processor, 8-megapixel camera with 1080p Full HD video recording capabilities and a new slimmer form factor.
