Tip UsThe latest rumours regarding the iPad 2 suggest the release date could be just around the corner.
According to China Commercial Times the iPad production will start at the beginning of February for small numbers initially, and then expand afterwards. Apple will be looking to have enough units to cover the demand of sales at release, so an estimate of around April for the release date has been suggested.
Other rumours that have been doing the rounds include:
- Mockups of the iPad 2 show a port that is SD-card sized.
- A USB port that will make transferring files to the iPad easy.
- The iPad 2 will have a new multi-core A5 processor.
- Front and rear camera, including Facetime.
- An increase in resolution size.
- The old speakers were awful, so new speakers.
- More memory.
- A new 7-inch screen.
- Retina display much like the iPhone 4.
- The new iPad will be thinner.
