So today was Apple’s 2010 Fall Event. In the past they have always focused on the iPod line at these events and this one was no different. There were also rumours of a new Apple TV, an update for iTunes and iOS4 for the iPad.

For the first time Apple also streamed the event live, so you may have heard all the great news already. Anyway we have rounded up all the news from the event below:
APPLE HAS SHIPPED 120 MILLION IOS DEVICES SINCE IPHONE’S LAUNCH

To start with Steve Jobs dropped some figures. 120 million iOS devices have been shipped since the iPhone’s debut back in 2007. 230,000 is the number of daily iOS activations. 200 apps are being downloaded every second, 6.5 billion total downloads of iOS applications.
Apple announces iOS 4.1

Apple will be releasing iOS 4.1 next week for the iPod Touch and iPhone. The update will fix some bugs with the proximity sensor, bluetooth and iPhone 3G speed. It also includes new features such as HDR photos, HD video uploads over WiFi, TV show rentals and Game Center.
iOS 4.2 features Air Play media streaming and multitasking for iPad

One of the new features of iOS 4.2 is Air Play, which allows users to stream music and video from your computer to your i-device over WiFi. The other main feature of iOS 4.2 is, it brings multitasking to the iPad.
The New iPod Shuffle

Apple announced a new iPod Shuffle. Despite it being the smallest yet, they have given it back all it’s buttons. It supports Genius mixes, playlists and VoiceOver. It comes in blue, pink, black, green and yellow. It’s also good for 15 hours of battery life, got 2GB of storage and will cost $50.
The New iPod Nano

The new 1.54″ touchscreen iPod Nano is 46% smaller and 42% lighter than its predecessor. It has hard volume buttons, Voiceover, FM radio, NIke+ support, a pedometer and 24 hour battery life.
It comes in blue, pink, black, green, yellow, graphite red and a Global Fund-sponsored red. It will cost $149 for 8GB and $179 for the 16GB version.
The New iPod Touch

The new iPod was anounced and has some amazing features. It will not be getting the same iPhone 4 look but is actually thinner. It will also boast a Retina display, A4 chip, 3-axis gyro, iOS 4.1, front-facing camera. It also has a rear camera with HD video and supports 40 hours of music playback. It will cost 8GB for $229, 32GB for $299 and 64GB for $399. Available next week. Pre-order starts today.
iTunes 10

Apple announced a new iTunes 10 with Ping social network. The new ping feature allows you to ping a new social network all about music. You can also find out what your friends are listening to and downloading, with status updates. There is also a new hybrid view, instead of long list with the same album title, you can now choose to see cover in the list view instead.
2nd generation Apple TV

The new Apple TV is extremely small, one-fourth of the size of the original. Black. Built-in power supply, 802.11n wifi, Ethernet, HDMI. No more downloads. All HD. First run HD movies for $4.99 the day the DVD comes out. $0.99 cent TV show rentals. Netflix support. YouTube streaming.
The event was ended with Chris Martin playing Yellow. So some pretty big news and updates for Apple, and as usual many suprises.
