Samsung and Google may have delayed the unveiling of Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich which means we won’t get a look at the new operating system next week, however screenshots have now leaked of Google+ 2.0 and Google Music 4.0.1 which have been designed for the new Ice Cream Sandwich operating system.
The helpful tipsters sent the screenshots to Android Police. At first look it seems like Google and have not added many new features but have focused on making the interfaces look much more polished.
Google Music 4.0.1
New controls have been added, the menus look much more polished and everything just seems to be cleaner.
Everything looks very much the same as Google Music 3, however small changes are what make the difference, for example now the player area at the bottom of the screen takes up less space. In the selection menu instead of a popup that appears in the middle of the screen, a dialog-style box now displays directly below the artist.
As we can see from the screenshots the player interface has been given an overhaul, it looks much more clean to fit in with the rest of the interface and there is now a search button in the top right corner.
Now when you tap on an album cover you are provided with options and details about the currently playing track and artist. Rather than a 5 star rating system the tracks are rated using a thumbs up or thumbs down system.
Google+ 2.0
Much like Google Music 4 everything is looking a lot more polished but there don’t seem to be any new features, just one major change. Google have renamed the Messenger and Conversations to to “Chords.” The change is typical of Google keeping things original, I guess they thought Messenger was just too generic.
The only other change seems to be that they moved the notification bar from the bottom to the top. In terms of the UI everything seems much more organized and the layout is much better. The photo albums are larger and easier to use. Other pages such as the Stream are basically the same, they function the same but look much cleaner.
There is no word on when we will see Ice Cream Sandwich following the unexpected delay, hopefully we’ll see it sometime later this month.
